Several rivers begin or flow through the state, including the Yellowstone River, Powder River, and the Snake River. The Continental Divide, which runs through most of North America forks in the south central part of the state. The waters that flow or precipitate into this area, known as the Great Divide Basin, do not flow to any ocean. Instead, due to the overall aridity of Wyoming, they simply sink into the soil or evaporate.

Experience the wide variety of fishing available to Wyoming anglers of any age or persuasion. From blue ribbon trout streams to world class reservoir fisheries, there are opportunities for the catch of a lifetime or a simple campfire meal. - Wyoming Game and Fish
  • Hopper Madness On Wyomings North Platte River
'As I was tying on a 7X tippet and a size 20 caddis, Rich reappeared from upstream and asked why I was wasting my time on such a puny fish - displaying a Dave's hopper that had been chewed to the bare hook by a series of obviously large trout.'
  • Introduction to Lake Fly Fishing Techniques
Lake fly fishing techniques are similar to those of any other types of water except you don't have to deal with currents. In lakes fish have to aggressively search for food and are more likely to be tempted by anything that looks edible than their fussier
  • Fly Fishing Small Streams
I believe there are more fish lost before an angler makes his first cast than at any other time when fly fishing the small stream.
